As for this year Ramadhan, in Shaa Allah, I will be making articles on Historical Evolution of Islamic Sects. The term/word “Sect” will also be used to refer to popular and controversial Islamic movements that have been tagged sects by some adversaries of the movements.
This series will entails the famous hadeeth of sects; starting the discussion of the sects with the Khawarij; Shiism; Mu’tazilah; Jahmiyyah; Murji-ah in all its forms; Ashaa’irah; Matrudiyyah; Sufism; Ahmadiyyah; Ikhwanul Muslimoon; Tebligh; Wahabiyyah/Salafism.
This series will be splitted into Fourteen (14) Episodes and published on my blog taofeeq.onlinebusinessexplained.com by 2pm (WAT) of every two days.
A unique methodology I plan to follow is to relate the historical evolution of each sect with its ideal principles, and realities of each movement in today’s modern world. As I aim to make this series (in Shaa Allah) the most comprehensive study of this subject matter in the English language.
The goal of this series is firstly to achieve the pleasure of Allah, and then to help us know where we are coming from, how we got here, to seperate the wrong Islamic creed from the right doctrines, the issue of labelling, and what our focus should be on Creedal and Jurisprudence issues.
I pray Allah make this effort a benefit for me and for all readers. May He also accept it as ibaadah.
