A few days back, someone sent me his little personal research by studying the behavior and properties of the Coronavirus and uses of certain herbs.
I agreed with the research. Likewise telling myself, just because it hasn’t been proven scientifically doesn’t mean it can’t work. All in the name of science, we have “totally” lost all the Islamic therapy knowledge on herbs and plants.
The question we should be asking is why haven’t things like these been scientifically researched or proven till now? And the straight answer to that is because the giant pharmaceuticals, the likes of Johnson & Joshson in the US, Novartis, Roche in the Switzerland cannot own the rights to Onions, garlic, bardakush, mint, et al. So, it wouldn’t make them money. They will rather spend money and resources on researching chemicals which they can patent and own all rights to.
For example, when a researcher/doctor says: “I think I found a plant that can cure xxxx”, after hearing it is concoction of herbs, the next thing the Head of pharmaceutical company say is “Damn it! go and find me something we can patent, how are we gonna spend billions of dollars on researching a plant! just so people can grow it in their backyard?!”
Meanwhile, there are many times the orthodox medicine fails to resolve a health challenge and sometimes the chemicals we take as drugs weaken the body system. The zealot medical persons may disagree with this, I don’t care.
Undoubtedly, the lack of any appropriate scientific research on prophetic medicine, coupled with the arbitrary use of those herbs by untrained practitioners, make it harmful to the health of any patient.
And no one will support those involved in herbal remedy in a hazardous way. The quackery in the name of therapy, vividly stands in contra-distinction of the actual practice of that medicine.
Prayers shouldn’t be neglected. The sovereignty belongs to Allah alone. May He show us more of His mercies.

Sir, You are yet to tell us the name of the medicinal leaves
Basically, that was not the intention of the article. The points are clear.
I am not a pharmacologist and I don’t have license to share such medicines. You can consult the experts in the field.
Meanwhile, there is need for us to be careful so that we don’t get misunderstood by some people. If any herb or concoction is prescribed, it could be abused, even by those who are not sick. There are still people trying to recover from Mr Trump chloroquine prescription.
You said it all. Jazakumullah khairan
