Ali radiya Allahu anhu said: “The Messenger of Allaah said: The Mahdi is one of us, a member of my family. Allaah will guide him in a single night.” Musnad Imam Ahmad.
Imam Ibn Katheer said: “This means that Allaah will forgive him, grant him help, inspire him and guide him, when he was not like this before.”

In the last hour, a man from the household of the Prophet solla Allahu alayhi wa sallam will appear, Allah will use him as an instrument to help the religion of Islam, he will reform the earth and stay for seven years, filling it with justice as it was before filled with injustice. Under his reign, the community will live in ease and comfort as never before. The earth will bear vegetation, rain will be plentiful, wealth will be abundant and equally divided among the faithful.
Imam Ibn Kethir in his Nihaayah said: “in his reign, fruits will be abundant, the earth will bear vegetation, wealth will be abundant, the leader will be just, the religion will be upright, goodness will be perpetual”.
His name and attribute:
He is a man whose name is like that of the Prophet Muhammad solla Allahu alayhi wa sallam, and his father’s name like that of the Prophet’s father’s name, his name will be Muhammad – or Ahmad – or Abdullah, he is from the progeny of Faatimah the daughter of the Prophet and son of Hasan bn Aliyy radiya Allahu anhum.
Ibn Kethir said about Mahdi: “He is Muhammad the son of Abdullah, from the progeny of Faatimah(AlFaatimiyy), Hasan(AlHasaniyy) radiya Allahu anhu”
His attribute: His forehead will be broad and his nose will be high, his face will shine like a star and he will have a black spot on his left cheek. This, as recorded by Imam Tabaraani.
Abu Saeed al-Khudri said: “The Prophet said: The Mahdi is of my lineage, with a high forehead and a long, thin, curved nose. He will fill the earth with fairness and justice as it was filled with oppression and injustice, and he will rule for seven years.”

He will appear before Isa and Dajjaal.
The appearance of the Mahdi, who will appear before the Dajjaal and before the descent of ‘Isa ibn Maryam. This is indicated by the hadeeth of Jaabir radiya Allahu anhu who said: The Messenger of Allaah said: “Isa ibn Maryam will come down and their leader the Mahdi will say to him: ‘Come and lead us in prayer.’ But he will say: ‘No, one of them should lead the others in prayer, as a sign of honour from Allaah to this ummah.”
So ‘Isa alayhi salaam will follow the Mahdi in prayer, which indicates that the Mahdi will appear before Isa, and Isa will kill the Dajjaal, which indicates that the Dajjaal will appear during the time of the Mahdi.
