PALESTINIANS STRUGGLE: HOW SAUDI BETRAYED THE UMMAH

We all seem to have a concensus that the holy land, Palestine and its people must be liberated. Over Seven decades and still counting, the land and people of Palestine are still being oppressed daily by the Zionists. Where lies our problem? Regardless of the differences, all sane Muslims (and many non-Muslims) of the world unanimously believe in the liberation of the Palestinians and see the cause as every human cause.

But I make bold to say that we may not achieve success in this cause if we are still yet to realize our actual enemy. The enemy we are fighting is only a sub-enemy and not the actual cause of our problem.

We all are getting it wrong trying to proffer a solution base upon myopic view of things at present without tracing the history to its fundamental. We have to study the root of our predicament and know how the generality of the Muslim Ummah got betrayed (and still getting betrayed); how Palestine was sold; the traitors responsible for these atrocities; then we can proffer a realistic and factual solution. Knowledge itself is a great weapon in war.

The Yoruba adage says: “Bi ikú ilé ò pani, tòde ò lè pani” which literally means: “If the death at home (from within) does not kill, the death outside will not”.

Another Yoruba adage has it that:”Kokoro ti n je efo idi efo lo wa”. Meaning: “The leaf-eating insect lives inside the plant.” which means, the enemy and traitor is within.

Our real enemy is the one who sold Palestine to the Jewish Zionists. We shouldn’t be surprised our enemy prays and fasts with us, that has been foretold as a sign of the Last Hour. Our actual enemy facilitated the domination and occupancy of the Zionists on the land of the Palestinians. Our real enemy’s kingdom was created with the help of the Zionists, and the price paid is Palestine and her people. Our real enemy and its allies keep normalizing ties with our sub-enemy, thus giving the outside enemy the effontery to keep torturing us openly; afterall, if the death at home does not kill, the death outside will not. Our real enemy hoodwinked her scholars to give verdicts claiming the Israeli products boycott is haram and will yield nothing. Our enemy fund the ignorance of the palace Sheikhs to a level of global acceptance deceitfully brandished as Manhaj of the Salaf using billion dollars.

OUR REAL ENEMY IS THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA.

This is the enemy who sold Palestine to the Jewish Zionists. It is this enemy we must see as an enemy and fight (economically, academically, financially….) if we truly want to win a battle against the Jewish Zionists; else we leave our faith till the appearance of the Mahdi, Allah’s willing. We actually do not need this enemy’s help to liberate Palestine and its people. Our only fear which still remains a fear is fighting two-front war. It takes an extraordinary army to win a battle at two-front; the earlier we identify the traitor and enemy in our midst.

If with all the present incidences, you still haven’t acknowledged Saudi Arabia as our true enemy in this fight against the Zionists, then let me take you through the history of how Saudi Arabia sold Palestine to the Jewish Zionists. Not only that, also how Israel got to Palestine; how the modern Saudi state was created by the help of the Zionists; how Saudi Arabia hijacked the territory of Macca and Madina (Hijaz); and their role in the fall of the Islamic caliphacy which has not been re-established till date.

1: All the previous caliphates were replaced with another caliphate; including Turkey which was the capital of the Daula Uthmaniyah (Ottoman Empire).

There was never a total abrogation in the entire history of Islam until the last which was Daula Uthmaniyah, which was truncated absolutely with the help of Arab Nationalists championed by the Sherif of Hijaz on one side and King Abdul Aziz Al-Saud of Najd on the other side.

2: The British had promised both Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and Sherif Hijaz (Hussein bn Ali) of the kingdom of the Arabia peninsular, but the British and Zionists later preferred Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and helped him establish the new Saudi kingdom and betrayed Sheriff because he was proofing stubborn because he also wanted Syria which Britain has left for France and he objected establishment of State of Isreal in Palestine. King Abdul Aziz was a trusted and more depended Ally.

3: There were three distinct authorities in the Arabian Peninsula after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. The first is the Sherif of Hijaz (Hussein bn Ali) who was controlling the West. The second is Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud of Najd and his religiously fanatical followers in the East. And Ibn Rashid of Haa’il in the North.

4: The Hijaz mainly consists of Macca, Madina and Tabuk. Controlled by the Sherif Hussein.

Najd consists of Riyadh, al-Qassim, and later Haa’il. Under Ibn Saud.

Haa’il is in the northwest under the control of Ibn Rashid. The rulers of Ha’il were the sons of Abdullah bn Rashid. The Rashid dynasty, or the House of Rashid, was a historic Arabian dynasty that existed in the Arabian Peninsula between 1836 and 1921. Its members were rulers of the Emirate of Ha’il and the most formidable enemies of the House of Saud, rulers of the Emirate of Najd.

5: Before the World War 1 and the fall of the Ottoman Empire, King Abdul Aziz Saud (popularly called Ibn Saud by the West) formed a militia named Ikhwan. This was around 1912. This Ikhwan militia is not the same as the Ikhwan (Ikhwan Muslimoon) of Hassan al-Banna established in 1928.

Ibn Saud began organizing the Ikhwan in 1912 with hopes of making them a reliable and stable source of an elite army corps. Remember the Ikhwan is a force that was raised from the civil population to supplement a regular army in an emergency.

The Ottoman Empire hasn’t been dissolved here. But there have been plans ongoing to scuttle the Islamic caliphacy from within. The Arab Revolt against the Ottoman was in June 1916. But the British had already had a pact with Ibn Saud who was a trusted Ally to scuttle the Islamic caliphacy from within.

6: After the fall of the Ottoman, In 1919, the Ikhwan of Abdul Aziz Sa’ud began a campaign against the Hashemite kingdom of the Hijaz.

The great mistake of the Sherif Hussein should also not be forgotten. He was also seeking for a Caliphacy which made him engaged in the revolt against the Ottoman Empire. The British had promised him a single independent Arab state that would include modern day Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and Jordan (which was called Transjordan then) in addition to the Hijaz region.

And that was why I made it clear in my famous article on Protest that “In the entire Islamic history, every emerging caliphate engaged in even khuruj bi Saif (Revolts with arms) against its predecessors. So the claim of Revolt is not the basis for determining Ahl sunnah; not to talk of ordinary peaceful protest to demand for legitame right.”

7: As soon as the war against the Ottoman Empire ended, the Sheriff Hussein wanted to hold the British to their war time promises. The British, on the other hand, wanted the Sherif to accept the Empire’s new reality which was creation of a national for the Jewish people in Palestine by colonisation with European Jews.

8: The Sherif made it known that he will never sell out Palestine to the Empire’s Balfour Declaration. He made it clear that he will not give his consent to the establishment of Zionism in Palestine or accept the new random borders drawn across Arabia by the British and French imperialists. This act of boldness from the Sherif should be acknowledged.

9: The British and French imperialists began referring to the Sherif Hussein as an obstructionist, nuisance, and of a recalcitrant (uncooperative) attitude.

10: The British made it known to the Sherif that they were prepared to take drastic measures to bring about his consent of the new reality (establishment of the state of Israel in Palestine) regardless of the service he rendered them during the War.

Sadly! They used the Muslims to fight the Muslims just so to return the fight against the Muslims. I pray the Muslims will wise up one day. The same thing happened during the fall of the Abbasid Empire. The fall of the Abbasid Dynasty was orchestrated by the rivalry and polemics among various Islamic tendencies; until the Tatars and Mongols ransacked the Islamic homeland to kill Muslims without sparing any of these tendencies. Ibn Athir in his Tarikh gave a classical description of the aftermath of this invasion. The same thing keeps happening today and the enemy of Islam keep repelling an enemy with a common enemy.

11: Here comes Thomas Edward, whom you all know; the famous Lawrence of Arabia. Thomas Edward Lawrence was sent to meet the Sherif, to bribe and persuade him to accept the Britain’s Zionist Colonial Project in Palestine. Initially, Lawrence and the Empire offered 80,000 rupees, the Sherif rejected it outright. Lawrence then offered him an annual payment of £100,000, the Sherif refused to compromise and sell Palestine to British Zionism.

12: When financial bribery failed to persuade the Sherif, Lawrence threatened him with an Ibn Saud takeover.

Lawrence claimed that “politically and militarily, the survival of Hijaz as a viable independent Hashemite kingdom was wholly dependent on the political will of Britain, who had the means to protect and maintain his rule in the region.”

13: In between negotiating with the Sherif, Lawrence visited other leaders in the Arabian peninsula and informed them that if they don’t tow the British line and avoid entering into an alliance with the Sherif, the Empire will unleash Ibn Saud and his Wahhabis who after all is at Britain’s “beck and call.”

Most people knew about Thomas Edward Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia); but very few Muslims knew St. John Philby (سانت جون فيلبي) – a British spy who connived with King Abdul Aziz Saud to scuttle the Islamic caliphacy which lead to the emergence of modern Saudi State and the establishment of the state of Israel in Palestine. The traitor is within.

14: In the year 1919, the Ikhwan militia of Ibn Saud attacked the Sherif Hussein. They defeated him and conducted border raids against his sons Abdullah I of Transjordan and Faisal of Iraq.

15: Concurrently, there was a conference in Cairo over the British Zionism project in March 1921. After the conference, Winston Churchill travelled to Jerusalem to meet the Sherif’s son (Abdullah I) who was the Emir of the new territory Transjordan, to persuade his father to accept the Palestine mandate and sign a treaty to such effect; that if not, the British would unleash Ibn Saud against Hijaz. In the same time, the British were already planning to unleash Ibn Saud on the ruler of Ha’il, Ibn Rashid. Ibn Rashid also rejected the offer of being a puppet like Ibn Saud.

16: However, Ibn Rashid expanded his territory north to the new mandated Palestinian border as well as to the borders of Iraq in the summer of 1920. The British became concerned that an alliance maybe formed between Ibn Rashid who controlled the northern part of the peninsula and the Sherif who controlled the western part.

More so, the British Empire wanted the land routes between the Palestinian ports on the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf under the rule of a friendly party.

At the Cairo Conference, Churchill agreed with an imperial officer, Sir Percy Cox (the Colonial Office administrator in the Middle East) that Ibn Saud should be given the opportunity to occupy Ha’il.

17: By the end of 1920, the British extremely increased their sponsor to Ibn Saud with a monthly grant of £10,000 in gold, on top of his monthly subsidy. He also received abundant arms supplies, totalling more than 10,000 rifles, in addition to the critical siege and four field guns with British-Indian instructors.

18: Finally, in September 1921, the British unleashed Ibn Saud on Ha’il which officially surrendered in November 1921.

It was after this victory the British bestowed a new title on Ibn Saud. He was no longer called the “Emir of Najd and Chief of its Tribes”. They started calling him “Sultan of Najd and its Dependencies”. Ha’il had dissolved into a dependency of the Empire’s Sultan of Najd.

19: You should take note that there was a new round of talks between Abdullah’s son on behalf of his father which eventually made the Empire accepting Zionism.

When this news got to the Sherif with an accompanying letter from his son requesting him to accept “reality”, he didn’t even bother to read the treaty and instead composed a draft treaty himself rejecting the new divisions of Arabia as well as the sell out of Palestine to the Zionists. He sent this letter to London!

20: Since 1919 and finally at 1920, the British had stopped the subsidy of Hussein; while at those time subsidising Ibn Saud heavily.

After a further three rounds of negotiations in Amman and London, it became clearer to the British Empire that Hussein will never relinquish Palestine to the Britain’s Zionist project or accept the new divisions in Arab lands.

21: In March 1923, the British informed Ibn Saud of an advance grant of £50,000 upfront, which amounted to a year’s subsidy.

22: By March 1924, the British Empire announced that it had terminated all discussions with Sherif Hussein to reach an agreement.

Within weeks, the forces of Ibn Saud began to administer what the British Foreign Secretary, Lord Curzon called the “Final kick” to Sherif Hussein.

23: In this same year 1924, Hussein seeing all the plots self proclaimed Caliph of the Arab in Mecca. The Ikhwan militia labelled the act heretical and accused Hussein of obstructing their performance of Hajj to Makkah. The Ikhwan of Abdul Aziz then revolted against Transjordan (now Jordan), Iraq, and Hijaz simultaneously. They massacred several hundred of the inhabitants.

Makkah fell to the Ikhwan, and with subsequent surrender of Jiddah and Medina, they won all the Hijaz for Ibn Sa’ud.

The Ikhwan thought their success was due to their acclaimed Tawheed – fighting bid’ah and its people; unknown to them that Abdul Aziz Sa’ud tricked them, as he was receiving fund and ammunition from Britain to fight and kill the Muslims. I’ve said it earlier that the Ikhwan militia were the fanatics Muslims and followers of the Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Wahab brand of Islam. They were very harsh in aqeedah matters that almost everything is considered bid’ah and haram, including the usage of microphone then, all in the guise of Tawheed.

24: The British then wrote to Sherif’s sons, who had been awarded kingdoms in Iraq and Transjordan not to provide any assistance to their besieged father.

In Taa’if, Ibn Saudi Ikhwan men committed customary massacres; slaughtered women and children, as well as going into mosques and killing traditional Islamic scholars who do not subscribe to Ibn Saud’s leadership. In mid-October 1924, Makkah was captured.

25: Sherif Hussein was forced to abdicate and went to exile in Aqaba. He was replaced as monarch by his son Ali who made Jiddah his governmental base.

26: As Ibn Saud moved to lay siege to the rest of Hijaz, the British found the time to begin incorporating the northern Hijazi port of Aqaba into Transjordan. Fearing that Sherif Hussein may use Aqaba as a base to rally Arabs against the Empire’s Ibn Saud; the Empire let it be known that in no uncertain terms that he must leave Aqaba or Ibn Saud will attack the port.

Sherif Hussein responded that he had never acknowledged the mandates on Arab countries and still protest against the British Government which has made Palestine a national home for the Jews.

27: Thereafter, Sherif Hussein was forced out of Aqaba, a port he had liberated from the Ottoman Empire during the Arab Revolt.

28: With Ali the son of Sherif Hussein in Jiddah, by January 1925, Ibn Saud already begun his siege of Jiddah and the city finally surrendered to him in December of the same year 1925.

Bringing to an end over 1000 years of rule by the Prophet Muhammad’s Hashemite descendants.

29: The British officially recognised Ibn Saud as the new King of Hijaz in February 1926 with other European powers following suit within weeks. The new unified Wahhabi state was rebranded by the British Empire in 1932 as the “Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”. Named after King Abdulaziz Al Saud.

30: It is a fact that no student of history will deny that Makkah and Madina do not belong to the family of Saud. The original owners of Makkah and Madina were the rulers of present day Jordan. The sons and grandsons of Sharif Hussein are the ones controlling Jordan (The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) till now. Right from Abdullah I of Transjordan in 1921.

31: When the Britain had helped Ibn Saud create his Saudi Arabia, the price paid is Palestine. Thus, the Israeli got Palestine so easy. The rulers of Transjordan dismissed to Jordan and gain independence from Britain in May 25th 1946.

Israel was not recognized as a state before 1948, until the Nakba in 1948 which resulted in the expulsion of more than 750,000 Palestinians from their homeland. Several thousand more were displaced within the newly created state of Israel.

32: Kindly note that evidences of this history could be found in their own books if one read between lines. Books like عنوان المجد which chronicle the Najdi da’wah exploits. Also the book of Sheikh Hafis Wahbah titled جزيرة العرب في قرن العشرين. This History is not gotten from the enemies of Ibn Saud or the antagonists as their followers may later claim. In fact, Sheikh Hafis Wahbah was a special adviser to King Abdul Aziz Sa’ud. And he was even the Ambassador of Saudi to Britain during the Second World War.

33: Saudi has already re-write the history to their favour. It is what a defensive country found guilty of such atrocities would first do. If Shekau of Boko Haram eventually has an authority with the support of the West, with surplus money, the first thing he will do is to hire scholars who will re-write the history for him and justify his atrocities under the guise of Jihad and Tawheed. Thanks to sincere historians who penned it as it happened.

34: The British also helped Saudi in re-writing the history. They argued that Ibn Saud’s invasion of Hijaz was motivated by religious fanaticism; and not by British imperialism.

They also claim that Ibn Saud’s Wahhabi fanatics were being misunderstood who only wanted to bring Islam back to its purest form. And up till today, these Islamist jihadis are portrayed in the most benign manner when their armed insurrections is supported by Britain and the West such as 1980’s Afghanistan or in today’s Syria, Yemen, Iran. Saudi fight and kill innocent people in Yemen, Iran, Syria, they claim they are fighting the Shiites. What a propaganda!

35: Also, the British historians portray Ibn Saud as an independent force and not as a British instrument used to horn away anyone perceived to be surplus to imperial requirements. Some of their Authors on the history of Arab claims that “Ibn Saud had no interest in fighting” the Ottoman Empire. Whereas, upon verification, the is very far from the truth as Ibn Saud joined the war in 1915.

36: You should specifically note it that the dissolution of the two Arab Sheikhdoms of Ha’il and Hijaz by Ibn Saud is based on their leaders’ rejection to facilitate the British Empire’s Zionist project in Palestine.

37: It is therefore very clear that the British Empire’s drive to impose Zionism in Palestine is embedded in the geographical DNA of contemporary Saudi Arabia. There is further irony in the fact that the two holiest sites in Islam are today governed by the Saudi clan because the Empire was laying the foundations for Zionism in Palestine in the 1920s.

And today, it is no surprise that both Israel and Saudi Arabia are keen in militarily intervening on the side of “moderate rebels” i.e. jihadis, in the 2016 war on Syria, a country which covertly and overtly rejects the Zionist colonisation of Palestine.

38: An ignorant fanatic defender of Saudi Arabia may claim the Zionists did not help create the modern Saudi state because there was no Zionism prior the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948.

The answer to this ignorance claim is that, before World War 2, Zionism practically translated to and specifically meant the implementation of the British Empire’s Balfour Declaration. The British Empire were facilitating the implementation of the Balfour Declaration by allowing Ibn Saud to expand across the Arabian peninsula.

After World War 2 and especially with the creation of Israel in 1948, Zionism largely means supporting the state of Israel.

Likewise, the ignorant fellow should know that the initial British support for Ibn Saud pre World War 1 up to 1915 was about destabilising Ottoman Empire presence for British imperialism; but after 1919, as explained above, the British imperialist support for Ibn Saud was all about ‘facilitating’ the British zionist project in Palestine.

39: The Zionists and enemies of Taoheed helped created the Saudi Arabia, how then do you think Saudi will wage war against them? Only just to deceive the Muslims that they are with us in the cause. That’s why they and their puppet scholars find all means to blame it on the Hamas and the people of Palestine claiming they lack the tact of war.

40: A Saudi defender may also come to say all these were the mistakes of the fore-fathers of this present Saudi Arabia, tell the defender that they are tightening the relationship and normalization more deeper; with the Zionists, Britain at large, America, and the West. And years to come may be more brutal because of this crowned boy called Muhammad bn Salman.

In 2014, according to the American journal, Foreign Affairs, the Saudi petroleum Minister, Ali al-Naimi is reported to have said “His Majesty King Abdullah has always been a model for good relations between Saudi Arabia and other states and the Jewish state is no exception.” And Abdullah’s successor King Salman has expressed similar concerns in both words and actions.

41: The enemies of Islam understood the potency of Islamic unity; and they continue to instigate issues that will accentuate this division. Instead, our uppermost aim should be how to come together in crush of the most dangerous foe of Islam. Majority of us lack the true knowledge of Islamic history; thus we end up not learning from history. I actually do not blame those who argue the true facts of history, it’s not their fault alone; those who tampered the Islamic heritage and interpolated Islamic books of olds are to be blamed more.

Imagine the mentally deranged person supporting the fatwa that the Palestinians should first go and learn Tawheed; it is simply a propaganda and a way of sweeping the truth under the carpet. By the way, that’s not a discussion for here, another article will take care of that in Shaa Allah.

  1. JazakaLLahu khairan for this. May Allah continue to preserve you for His cause. I have said it before, you need to write volume of books on history of Islam.
I doubt if there could be any history on the Palestine issues that is richer than this.

  2. Alhamdulillah for the eye opening exposition, I’ve always wanted to understand the links, i knew for sure Saudi helped in bringing down khilafatu Uthmaniyya, what i didn’t understand was why Saudi wouldn’t be interested in the Caliphate, now i understand how it all played out.

  3. Jazakhumullahu khyar, i knew that something terrible has happened to this ummah when I listened to Sheikh Qadhi Yasir lecture titled ‘Enmey within’ though he didn’t open the whole door as you did. May Almighty Allah protect you and your household from those agents of the liars.

  4. English language teacher here, in my experience, Thai and Indonesian students were my very best — Saudis were easily the worst.

I doubt they’d be hard to beat because they never got up before 3pm.
